Headteacher’s Welcome
Dear Students, Parents and Carers,
I am delighted to be able to welcome you to the website of St Ursula’s Convent School for Girls. From September 2024 I will be the Consultant Headteacher at St Ursula’s leading the school with the support of the Senior Leadership Team and Governing Body.
Having grown up in South East London I have always been aware of St Ursula’s and in taking up this role am very mindful of the mission of the school:
- to ensure that every individual achieves their potential through the pursuit of academic excellence and the nurturing of their gifts and talents
- to create a caring Catholic community allowing everyone to develop and share in the love of Christ serving the world of today and tomorrow through the relationships we make and the service we provide to others
Our motto of Serviam means that through our daily lives we will seek to discover, nourish, cherish, and develop the talents of all the students at the school. We believe that everyone has unique talents and believe it is the mission of the school to help our young people discover theirs.
Although I have only been at St Ursula’s a short time there is an unmistakable identity to the school, both the environment and the atmosphere. A St Ursula’s student is one who has high aspirations, who values community and respects others.
Central to our school is our Catholic faith. As a Catholic school every girl is valued for their uniqueness and individuality, and as an inclusive school we welcome girls of all faiths and of none. All of our students will be individually known and valued.
Our Open Morning is on Saturday 14th September for all new prospective students, and we look forward to welcoming you to our school from 9am.
