Meet our Junior Leadership Team (JLT)

 Head Prefect

Hello, My name is River, I’m the head prefect here at St Ursula’s. Through my time here I’ve grown to realise and appreciate how much of a community we have at school thanks to our teachers, peers, and other staff members.

When I started in year 7, I found a school that exceeded my hopes and expectations, with a strong academic reputation and teachers who pushed and encouraged me to get the best grades I can.

Aside from academics, I have met a wide set of supportive friends, teachers and colleagues and I’ve always felt fully supported.

Our community is unusual as it extends beyond our school to include our local area, our local church, and indeed all the Ursuline campuses across the UK and the world.  Once an Ursuline, always an Ursuline!"

Deputy Head - Prefect

Hello, my name is Tanitoluwa Olaniyan, Deputy Head Girl! The 5 years I've spent in this environment called a school has fostered and encouraged my self-development and growth. Each aspect of my life has been touched greatly by every aspect of St Ursula’s Convent School. This is a school that is filled with: love, peace, joy, and determination. As much as I can say, I’ve had so many memories made here, in St Ursula’s I can also say that this school has helped me so much academically, physically, and mentally. The school knows how to push one to exceed their limits and go above and beyond to achieve things that one may think are impossible.

I also say how it’s such a dangerous and scary world out there. But St Ursula’s has changed my whole perspective, helping me to see that there is good in the world and the good starts from you. This school is embedded and engulfed with teachers and students who have just the best intentions for one another and are ready to help every step of the way.

As competitive as I have been told I am, St Ursula’s encourages friendly academic competition that helps and excites students. I have been a part of many competitions like the UKMT(United Kingdom Mathematics Trust) which I got a silver award and the JPSC (Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge) where I was a finalist. Through these small examples alone, I am sure you can tell how this school provides such amazing opportunities that prepare you for your future. I will always look back and be thankful for St Ursula’s because without it I wouldn’t have made the memories, achievements and friendships I have now.

My favourite part of St Ursula’s would be the eagerness of involvement within the students, everyone wants to help and be involved, so there are various opportunities and clubs, that facilitate this idea of involvement. Another aspect I cannot forget to mention is the Catholic life, especially being born a Christian girl I can say, that St Ursula’s has made my faith stronger and taught me life lessons and morals that I know will never leave me.

As Proverbs 22: 6 says “Train a child in the way of the Lord and when they are old they will not depart from it” I can proudly say that this school, St Ursula’s has definitely set me on the right path for life, and by God’s grace, I will not depart from it.

 Deputy Head Prefect

Hi, My name is Marilisa, and I’m thrilled to have been appointed as Deputy Head Girl at St Ursula’s. Throughout my 4 years at the school, I have strived to show immense amounts of dedication and resilience both in and outside of the classroom. Accomplishing many goals and achievements such as helping host a culture week celebration at school, helping the school on open evenings or even assisting in the passion play. Through my acts of service, I have learned what it is to be a leader and I aspire to create a safe and healthy environment for students and staff. St Ursula’s has given me numerous amazing opportunities, and I’m excited to help ensure that future students have the same experiences. St Ursula’s encourages its students to excel academically and personally, fostering a wonderful community that has supported my growth into a confident and diligent student.

I’m eager to collaborate with my peers to enhance our school even further! I always strive to treat others with respect and kindness, which I think is essential for my position, and I look forward to connecting with students from all year groups. Additionally, I believe working hard in school is crucial for success. I can’t wait to team up with the student Leadership Team to promote the positive and cheerful spirit of St. Ursula’s and complete our school ethos of service to others by serving our school community

 Senior Prefect

Hi, I’m Amanda, I am delighted to be able to serve as Senior Prefect and Leader of the Wellbeing Prefects sector at St Ursula’s Convent School. In these roles, I represent our student body, help organise events and work to create a supportive and inclusive environment. I am passionate about fostering positivity and promoting the mental, emotional, and social wellbeing of my peers. It’s an honour to contribute to my vibrant school community and cultivate ideas to make my already great school even greater.

 Senior Prefect

My name is Angel, and I would say that St. Ursula’s nonetheless has been an experience, yet one I would not change even if I were to go back. As a person, it was the environment where I experienced the most exhilarating and explosive part of my youth. I was constantly surrounded and supported by people who were like-minded as me and teachers whose enthusiasm and work ethic constantly inspired me in many aspects, and unconsciously, I started to take up those qualities. I think that everyone should be able to experience a secondary school experience like mine, one that I am confident built an excellent foundation for my future, which is why leaving St. Ursula's is not a bittersweet moment but an intriguing, provocative, and impelling moment. I think rather than dreading taking my next steps, teachers compelled me to reach for new heights and aim for the best of my abilities. Throughout my time at this school, I learned ambition, self-discipline, courage, and perseverance, and the opportunities the school provided me to enhance these through roles like senior prefect and the diversity team are where I learned the power of my autonomy and finding confidence in my own voice and ideas.

To me, St. Ursula’s is a school that really taught me a lot. Coming into the school, I would be leaving as a different, improved individual looking forward to my next steps, and for that, I am deeply grateful.
