Computer Science
Welcome to the Computer Science Department
In the Computer Science Department, we believe in a creative and collaborative approach to exploring computing while developing problem-solving and computational thinking skills.
We have two members of staff in the Computer Science Department, we are both very passionate about ensuring the students have every opportunity to develop their programming skills. We understand the importance of Computer science and developing the student's skills to be confident Digital Leaders and prepare students for jobs that do not yet exist and to use technology that has not yet been invented.
We have an ambitious Curriculum which explores machine learning algorithms and allows students to create computer games and programming AI Models. We aim to ensure every pupil can develop their Computing and Digital skills not only in the classroom but also in gaining opportunities outside of the classroom. This year we are taking the students on a Trip to Euro Disney to understand how technology is used in the Leisure industry.
The Computer Science department puts students’ projects and ideas at the heart of the department. We have close links with Morgan Stanley who run a coding club every week with our KS4 students.
We encourage and support students to pursue their own interests. This has seen the development of the Robotics Club with students gearing up to take part in the Lego League Competition.
