The Aims of the St Ursula’s Careers Department

To enable our pupils to:

Explore and Identify Career Interests: Provide opportunities for students to discover their passions and interests, helping them understand the range of career options available.

Make Informed Decisions: Equip students with the knowledge and resources they need to make thoughtful decisions regarding further education, training, and career paths.

Develop Key Skills: Encourage the development of essential skills such as communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership, which are vital in any career.

Access Real-World Experiences: Offer opportunities for internships, work placements, and career shadowing to give students hands-on experience in the workforce.

Set Achievable Goals: Support students in setting clear, realistic goals for their academic and professional journeys, helping them take the necessary steps toward achieving them.

Build Confidence and Resilience: Help students gain confidence in their abilities and develop the resilience required to navigate challenges as they move forward in their careers.

By guiding students through these aims, we prepare them to make confident and informed decisions as they transition into adulthood and begin to carve their career paths.
